As a part of the festivities, Eugene K. Cashman, Jr. will be honored by receiving the 2013 Leadership Memphis Kate Gooch Leader of the Year Award from the Leadership Memphis board of directors.
For more than forty years, Eugene K. Cashman, Jr. has committed his career to improving the lives and well-being of Memphis children.
Earning his B.S. in Business Administration from Auburn University and his M.S. in Technology of Management from American University, he progressed in his professional career as the President and Chief Executive Officer of LeBonheur Children's Medical Center between 1977 and 1995, and LeBonheur Health Systems, Inc. from 1983 to 2004.

In 2011, Mr. Cashman was the recipient of the Senator Douglas Henry Award for Service to Children and Families at Risk. The University of Tennessee College of Social Work recognized him for his efforts in improving the well-being of infants and children in the Memphis area. He has served on the Boards of BlueCross BlueShield of Memphis, National Association for Children and Related Institutions, Methodist Healthcare-Memphis Hospitals, The Village at Germantown, and The University of Memphis Board of Visitors.
Because of his dedication to these efforts, he has been awarded the Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare Foundation Living Award, L.M. Graves Award, the University of Memphis Friend of the University Award and the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award.
